Took the rx8 to the track now it wont start!!!

Hey guys,
so i finally fixed my car after the truck tire accident
New problem now, i took my car to the local 1/8 mile, ran the car, had tons of fun but now she wont start!
It kinda of just clicks repeteadly when the key is put in it and everything on the dash starts blinking.... That morning when i tried to start it it went dead after i tried to start it, so i had my brother help me jump the car and it started but died 3 mins after and now i wont even turn the dash indicators and lights on, kinda just blinks and clicks repeteadly....
just when i was thinking of going back this week
ANy ideas of what this problem might be? What should i be looking at?
Thanks!

I recommend using Duracel or Energizer AAA batteries.

Yep, those are the symptoms of a bad/dead battery.

The fact that it started after being jumped, ran for a while, and then died and the battery was even more drained seems to indicate the alternator is not working to me.

Put a charger on the battery and see if it will hold a charge, it might be fine.

But before you start making expensive decisions, have the battery checked at a local autoparts store. If they say you battery holds a charge fine you may need an alternator.

Drag racing tends to drain a battery and put it through a lot of stress:
1. Underhood temps rise as you wait in the grid.
2. While in the grid you are running strictly off the battery because at low rpms the battery does not get charged by the alternator.
3. Not enough driving around the drag strip to get adequate charge on the battery.

it sounds like you not just killed, but murdered the battery... or maybe the alt.

Well, i wish it would have been as easy as the battery
I took my battery to the local autozone and they had it tested, it is still good.
Then i jump started the car and it did start but would only charge it to 13.3V but it did stay on for a while, what rpm does the rx-8 alternator start charging at?
Then i shut the car off, measured the battery still at a healthy 12.9V and it clicked away again , we then tried to jump start it again to no avail, it just clicks once when you try to start it then all the lights on the dashboard start flickering, we then measured the battery again still at about 12.7V, left it charging with the other car which was now reading 13.9V and tried to start it again and it kind of tried to start but failed, just 1 click and then there was flickering from all the dashboard lights, we tried using some highpower items like the headlamps or the wipers and it would do the same as it did when we tried to start it all the lights will just flicker.
I am lost on what to do next
What is the next step, im afraid an electrical gremlin might have taken over my 8....
What do you guys recommend i do? Thanks

New engine....J/K......if you can get it started check the volts at the alternator they should b somewhere close to 14volts with it running.....if not check all grounds and tight cables How old is the battery sometimes autozone they test good but they are bad just not being detected on the tester
