I changed my oil this afternoon, and put in 1/2 quart too much. Should I drain the 1/2 quart, or will it be alright. I taking the lazy way out right now. I just wanted to know if it's going to hurt anything?

 

I doubt that 1/2 qt too much will hurt anything, but that's just my opinion. Is my opinion worth more than yours? Probably not. If you are as **** about such things as I am, though, get a small hand pump from your local auto parts store that has a small-diameter tube you can snake down the dipstick pipe and suck out the excess oil.

 

Thanks, I am ****. I am trying to motivate myself right now to get off my butt, and drain a little, but I am watching TV, and it's been a long day. I could just drive the jeep tomorrow, and then work on the 8 tomorrow

 

I wouldn't worry about it, your car will probably consume that amount in a matter of 500 miles or so, so just go with it. I overfill mine from time to time and it doesn't seem to care.

 

I would not worry about a half quart.
