I've seem/read posts claiming spacers increase power by either changing the flow of the intake charge or somehow cooling the charge because of making the intake longer.

I don't really buy either claim.

I honestly feel it's more of a gimmick and not worth spending money on. Our spacer was designed as a means of delivery in a location that is functional with a part that can be removed if needed.

If they did anything of value Mazda would have put one on already. A piece of aluminum doesn't cost them much. Unless your using nitrous a TB spacer is a waste on money on this car. There are no such thing as cheap power mods for the RX-8

^^^ Yup, hell I know ive spent alot of $ to get a few extra hp and I know others that have spent even more than I have for HP. Total $ spent to get a few extra ponies is like ~$1000 for my Racing Beat Rev8 exhaust and AEM CAI lol and for what? 7-8hp MAYBE.... jeeze on a piston engine that would be like 35-40HP...

I wouldnt say tuned is the word for it as id call it Squeezed....

Mazda literally squeezed everything they could out of the Renesis which is why it can hardly make much more hp than it already has... without having alot of $$$...

Porting doesnt give you too much hp as the intake port is ~40% bigger than the FD 13B engine, for the intake port you can pretty much just smooth it out, exhaust port is where you can port it... Hell if you bridge-port a FD 13B you can make some serious Hp as long as you have some good tuning... a Renesis???
