Technical Service Bulletin work

My warranty is expired in my 04 model and I had the airbag light come on about 2 years ago. I got it fixed then and I know there is a tsb for it but now it has come back again. My question is, will they fix it for free because of the tsb or will i have to shell out the cash to get it fixed since my warranty is up. (55,000 miles) Thanks for any help guys!

with the recall 4206 the warranty was extended to 5 yrs or 60 k miles..

i dont know how that would work with an airbag, but it is a start.

go ask, for stuff like airbags, mazda is good about covering them.

just in general, a TSB is HOW to fix the car, it doesnt usually extend the warranty

There's several threads on the airbag issue. See this one...

That's the powertrain warranty that was extended not bumper to bumper. Airbags wouldn't be covered. TSB work is at discretion of the dealer whether they charge or not. TSBs are not recalls.

Depending on the issue with the airbags you may catch a little leeway because they are a safety item as opposed to something like the sunvisors. Auto manufacturers take the safety items seriously and you may want to let the dealer know your concern that a critical safety feature is not working properly.
