Are you saying that there is no socket there?
There really should be one and you need to maybe take a better look. Then hopefully you just need to get a bulb(2825) at any auto parts store............or an LED(194). I believe 2825's and 194 are the exact same.

According to what I see, the License Lamp socket is part number 51-276G if you have to have the whole plastic piece.

Go to your local electronic store and get a socket.

Wow.................will try to help you out this weekend. Sorry, but I've been slammed at work the last few days. I will see what I can find at my local autozone. I know they have the sockets, it won't be the best situation, but it will keep you from getting pulled over. I've got some extra LED's and bulbs in my garage, so all we need is the socket and I can wire it up for you. When you do gat a chance look in there closer and see if you see two wires at all?

Remove your rear bumper, the whole light assy. probably just fell inside. Best way to tell is turn you lights on and look underneath the rear bumper and see if you a light on.

I would agree, it may have just fallen inside. Can't imagine why anyone would take it out at all. Anyway, I worked all damn day Saturday and 1/2 day on Sunday............sorry.
Take a look as the others suggested and see what you can tell.

BTW.....what year is your car because your picture looks a little strange to me. I need to go look at mind carefully because I just can't see your pic that clearly. You said you can see some wires, can you get your fingers in there and gently pull on the wires. Don't pull very hard, but what is on the free end of the wires?

I turned on the lights tonight and tried looking behind the bumper but I couldnt see any light. Im going to try and take the bumper off tomorrow.

The car is an 04. The black box in the pic feels like it has wires going to it that are attached to it.

the light is there, you'll find it after the bumper is off.

So if the black box has wires going to it....and they are attached, then this means the socket must be there right? The socket is what the wires attach to and then the socket fits into the black plastic. If that all is there..........then bulb has fallen out.
If this is in fact the case, all you need is to go to the auto parts store and get a bulb.
Sizes "2825" and "194" are the same bulbs and then just plug the bulb right into the socket.
Maybe I'm dense and not following what is all being said in this thread. If I looked at it for two seconds, I'd know for sure.
So..............when you look at this piece, do you have a clear plastic lens that fits into the black plastic holder? I could make that out from your picture.

If you don't make any headway on Saturday, let me know and I can run by on Sunday to take a look, or the two of you can drive over to beachside and I'll take a look here. PM me if you or he need help.
