I've been reading alot about switching to 5w-30 oil. In all other countries mazda recommends 5w-30. I heard 5w-20 is only good for short trips and can do damage to the cat. Any opinions/pros and cons on switching to 5w-30?

 

I heard that whoever click and read thread like this one, their rx8 would sel-destruct in 10 minutes plus the reader will lose 10 IQ points.

I stoppees my 8 from self destruct, but I want my 10IQ back. Like right now

if your in a hot environment 10w-30 if normal 5w-30

why not? it runs cleaner.....youre not suppose to switch over to full after 50,000 miles....full is to thin for engines with higher mileage....it wouldnt be advised to go back to the half/half though.....your gonna have to stick to full.
