Sun Roof Rattle

Anyone else getting a rattle in their sun roof when its open?

Dealer can't seem to find the source of it, I know its coming from the slide cover..

Yeah when mine is tilted, its fine. When its fully open I get the rattle. It's ok with the radio on, but if its low volume its irritating, reminds me of my friends Hyundai in the early 90s.. LOL

i've brought it in twice for a sunroof rattle while vented as well. 2nd time they seem to have fixed it, although i swear i've heard it rattle once or twice since then.

a lot of people have had similar problems with the sunroof.

Add me to the list................... I plan on taking it off next week to add Lithium Grease. That should fix the rattles!

No need to take it off . . . Just a very tiny shot of WD40 on the guide pins and pivot points fixed mine. There were clues left in other posts in this forum . . . Just open the roof and you have good access from the front seats. I agree that Lithium Grease would be better, it won't dry out like WD40 although mine has been fine for a couple months now. Chances are that you can fix this problem in the time it takes to call the dealer for an appointment . . .

Mine rattles with the cover open and the window closed.

So, you thinks WD40 will work. I need to check it out more throughly.

WD40 worked for mine as well. It only fixed it for about a month but it was an easy fix. I guess I just reapply as needed.

Now, if only I could figure out what is making the squeak noise in the back seat area. It sounds like a cricket when I hit any kind of bump. I think it might be the rear deck, but it doesn't do it when I bang on it or turn the radio up. It is slowly driving me mad!!

Didn't try the WD40, but I had mine fixed a few days ago when I brought the car in for the fuel tank recall. The rattling was pretty annoying though.

Mine was rattling when less than fully open. Had the dealer check it when the recall work was done. They tightended the right side track assembly and it is now quiet.

I seem to be having this same problem as well, I get a little rattle when my sun roof is closed (it goes aways when the cover is closed or the roof is opened) and the cover is open. I haven't spend alot of time looking into this but I think it's the cover. Did you ever get your rattle to go aways and if so what was the cause? thanks

Look, there is a wire running to the interior lights that is rattling.

Take the cover off and duct tape it.

Do a search I'm sure you'll find more on it.
