Suggestions for Minor Performance/Fuel Economy Upgrades

I am looking to do some small modifications/upgrades to my RX-8 and wanted to get some suggestions on what I might do. I just want to do small stuff at this time. Not ready to do anything big like a turbo or a new exhaust system. So far I am I planning on switching to a K & N air filter and installing the Mazda speed ground wire and a voltage stabilizer. Is there anything else I can do performance/fuel economy wise on a budget or is that about it? Will those two things even affect my performance or fuel economy? This is the first time that I will have done any modifications to a vehicle, so my level of experience is pretty slim right now. Thanks

Look in the DIY section. I would suggest protection for oil cooler(s) and AC.

Thanks, I will look into all of these suggestions. What is the benefit of changing out the transmission and differential fluid to the royal purple/redline?

I managed to get little or no shifter vibration while at idle. All the movement seems to be a little more fluid when shifting as well.

Just the drop in filter. The guy at Auto Zone mentioned the intake, but I told him I had heard too many bad things about it here.
