Sucks, My Tranny's noise is getting worst

Ok, well, it sound like something is whirring the whole time, especially when I am trying to accelerate. Something is really wrong with the Tranny

Bring it back to the place who did my flywheel/clutch? I dont think thats a good idea.

Since I dont have to use my car for the following week(maybe 2, depends), I think its a good idea to take the Tranny down, and replace what they did not replace last time (Pliot Bearing, Pliot Bearing Seal, Front oil Seal, Also I will replace the Throwout bearing and Rear oil seal again)

Im trying to gather the parts that I need.

So far I have the following
4 2-Ton Jack Stand
2 3-Ton Jack Stand
Pair of Rhino Ramp
a el-cheapo Big Red low profile jack
Torque Wench with up to 150 FT lbs (just got it today)

Here is my plan :

Drive my front wheels up on the Rhino Ramp
Jack the Bottom part up, support it with 2 3-Ton stand
use 2 2-ton stand for safe precaution(support the front somewhere, in case the freaking Rhino ramp breaks down .... plastic u know)
use the last 2 2-ton stand to support the Engine and the Rear Diff so I can take the Tranny off.

Some Questions :
- In order to take the pliot bearing out do I need to take the big 2 1/8" Flywheel nut off ?
- Can I borrow the Pliot Bearing removal tool from someone? I dont mind to pay for deposit. I think someone said that I can borrow one for free at Autozone, Is that true? What about the Flywheel Stopper ?
- What is the Torque Spec for offical Counterweight Bolt(I got the right one from Vendor), the Service Manual dont have this information
- What other stuff I need to pay attention to ?

Thx

Shouldn't be any of the things you are thinking of doing. It's likely something inside the tranny.....

I was thinking the same thing.

After my Mazda Dealership incident, I dont think I should depend on them anymore. I have to do it myself.

Screw those lazy bastards.

Just a suggestion, maybe the PPF was not aligned with the correct gap, causing the 'whirring' sound you are hearing. Here is a post: https://www.rx8club.com/showpost.php...&postcount=293

Check for the 55-57mm gap.

I forgot about that

but Im still thinking of taking the Tranny down, replace the counterweight bolts with the *right* one.

Cuz the bolts on my flywheel/counterweight now is 11, instead of the 12(Mazda bolts), Is that the Size? or Grade? I forgot, I think my father's mini-van service manual mention it.

do this first, i thought i warned you about this...

it is simple to check, and not hard to fix. the idea of this being a bolt issue is a big no.

btw, i have a spare set of pp bolts if you need them.

beers
