Ok, so i bought my car a little over a month ago, and it came with a momo shifter...its nice...but i really like the stock shifter...how much should i expect to pay for one, new and used prices please....also....would i be able to trade someone mine for a stock one? btw...its silver and cylindric...thats the best i can describe it right now...ill get pictures next period.

you should be able to trade someone here for it, but if not check out www.mazmart.com they should have one laying around. I personally dont like the shape of the stock shift ****, if sits much higher and is a kind of odd shape. I replace mine with a voodoo round shift **** and it is much nicer than the stock one.

 

Thats the momo i have...i dont hate it...except when its cold out...but i sat in another 8 with the stock shifter...and i loved it

Yea you are probably going to want to find someone on the board that will make a deal with you, I believe a new one from Mazda is close to $200. One of the sponsoring vendors might make you a deal as well. Good luck, and btw I like the stock one too.

 

I thought I saw them going for about $40 in the Buy/Sell area on this site. I to got a Voodoo ****, but found it too cold in the winter. I put the stock one back on for now.

 

How much can i see mine for if i decide to sell it and not trade? and would i have a good chance of getting a trade?

I would consider selling it. What I did was buy an '06 MX-5 Miata leather **** off eBay to replace it. I didn't like the feel of the rotary shaped stock ****. I would sell it without hesitation, except that my car is leased. My only concern is that the shift pattern on the Miata **** has reverse next to 1st gear, rather than 6th. If I could find the center shift pattern sticker for the RX-8 and put it on my Miata ****, I'd be set and could sell you the stock ****.
In the mean time, I'd suggest that you look for an '06 MX-5 **** instead. It looks just as good in the car and it's weighted the same. It'll feel much better, though. I got a great deal on mine (less than $50!!). I'd be looking for $75, or so, for my stock one, if I were to sell it.

 

Just check the last link I posted when you get home, it is for a stock shift **** and it is currently at $10 no reserve. There is 9 hours left.

Yeah there is a lot of wear on that thing....hmmm...there is a kid who quoted me for 50 on here....im guessing i should go with that...then put my momo on ebay
