Needing a rebuild, and want to go ceramic apex seals, have seen some advertised as one piece and some as 2 piece? What comes in a factory Renesis, one or two piece apex seals?

I thought I read two piece seal better (NA engine), is that correct?

 

Stock is 2 piece and yes they seal better than a 1 piece - at idle and low rpm . At higher rpm there should be no discernible difference .
The one piece design is inherently stronger however so its a matter of what you want to achieve .

That was what I thought, just double checking.

I saw some NRS 2 piece seals for sale at Pineapple Racing (sold out), said fit RX8. I emailed Swen at NRS and he said:

"I am only making RX8 seals on request. I haven't made any 2pc RX8 seals as my design has a smaller corner piece and I need to see if it will work with the short seal."

Not sure if NRS will work? I emailed back.

 

pretty sure he had to set his idle at 1000 - 1100 to achieve that ....

 

Sven has done more with ceramic's but we need to show more interest if he's good to spend the time and money on R&D.
