Stiffness In Stering Wheel

H,
My steering wheel has seemed to get a lot stiffer reticently. It's almost a jerky stiffness. Can anyone tell me what it is?

Thanks,

Your R2 unit has a bad motivator....

But seriously, it's hard to tell you anything without any details about your car and when the problem occurs. Could be anything from a bad power steering connector to a bad computer, to a small animal caught up in your steering column.

Thanks for the reply,

It's when I turn left or right. Just after the beginning of the turn does it get tight. I really have to pull. Certain area's on the steering wheel are different from others

Just do a search in the tech forum using the keyword "power steering". Chances are your EPS connector is loose.

Mine behaves same.
Guys in mazda service have no idea what is it. No alarm codes what so ever.
They say it might be connectors under air filter box.
I cleaned those connectors under filter and on steering rack - no effect.
They don't belive in my cleaning skills so i had to go again tomorrow.
