Question about mpg
I had a question about mpg. I always read that to save gas, you should shift sooner. So i usually shift around 3000 rpms when im trying to save gas. But sometime i find myself pressing down on the gas pedal more than when i rev higher. So my question is - Do i save more gas by NOT pressing so hard on the gas pedal and revving higher, or by pressing down on the gas pedal more, but shifting sooner?
I tried a search on mpg and way too many threads came up.

The higher you rev the worse the mileage, but also accelerating faster also wastes more gas. So if you really want to save gas shift at 3k and ease on the pedal to change speed. Or you could do what I do, get a daily driver.

The car accelerates way too slow if i shift at 3000 and barely press the gas. So should i keep shifting sooner with more gas, or rev higher with less gas?
