starting to worry. engine bogging/sputtering between 4 and 6k

That's what I was thinking, Charles. I ended up calling Mazda directly to try and get to the bottom of it and they said that what the dealer stated is true. My cat is covered under the extended warranty for the 04 RX-8 but in order for them to cover the cost, a Mazda dealer must install the ignition parts as those are not covered. This is to insure that the parts were indeed changed and done correctly. That way the cat that Mazda pays for, won't also **** the bed. So I'm gonna have to end up paying about $770 for them to change the ignition parts, and for a new stock cat. I guess I can look at it as paying for the new ignition parts, and paying an extra couple hundred dollars for a new cat with installation. Shitty, but whatever.

A better "CAT", would be the Racing Beat Dual resonated midpipe, and it costs less than the $770.
