hi all, got a small issue with what i think is called ssv actuator, the thing is i fitted a new engine from a 55 plate to a 04 plate and noticed that on the 04 the ssv has a switch but on the 55 the switch is linked out .is this a mod on newer engines and will it affect the performance on the 04, as i cant get the car to go any faster than 97 mph cheers

 

what do you mean by "linked out " . Do you have pics of both setups ?

also - you can verify that the SSV is working by having someone turn off the engine while you watch the valve . It should do a quick on-off cycle .
