Squeal at high RPM

I've searched, and though I'm not perfect on the search, I couldn't really find anything, so here it goes

I've noticed that there is a high pitched squeal when my car gets to about 6k. I'm at constant throttle and is more pronounced when I have the accelerator deeper. I'm still in the "ok" range when it comes to oil, so I'm not sure if that's it or not. Anyone else have this or you rotor gurus can tell me whether I should be worrying about this or not?

I have 2100 miles as of yet and loving every minute of it- just worried a bit , that's all

May be loose accessory belts, slipping on the pulley, under 12k miles take it to the dealer and have it checked out. Easy fix, bring abox of Krispy Kreme donuts and make them your bitches!

Just curious, as this maybe related to my problem... is it like a belt squealing, or like metal? Mine sounds like something might me wrong with the rotor or something. I am a little hesitant to pull up in the dealership and "Well, when she hits about 7k RPM it makes a funny noise"!

to me it sounds like metal- as in the a problem with the rotor- as for the high rpm- to hell with them- redline is until 9k, all bets are off and they should be cool with it

I think I'll have them check it during my first oil change

Maz- first- there aren't really any krispy kremes around here, but the other thing is I don't need that stuff to make them my bitches

zoom- good, that's what I thought it was originally, but I didn't know what to call it so I searched for the squeal type title and didn't find it

thanks again

is it a sqeal or a rattle?
Cause I had the same thing happen last week where it started rattling like crazy like something's loose and wacking around inside the engine bay at 6k rpm. Weirdest thing was I called the dealer and when I brought it in, the noise was gone and I could NOT duplicate the noise again (though I did make a service tech happy as he sat in my car as I ripped it up)! But in any case they suspected it to be a loose rock or gravel in the heat shield and raised the car and cleaned out my heat shields for me. So far the noise hasn't come back (knock on wood)!
