I'm in the middle of changing my spark plugs (Yes at midnight) and come to find out, I have no anti seize. I ran to two different 24 hour stores, no one has it. I did however find Form A Gasket. Its used for making seals on gaskets, flanges, and threaded connections. It says its non hardening, and pliable. I have to have these plugs in tonight, to be able to move my car tomorrow. Would you guys suggest trying it, or not risking it at all. Currently, my car isn't going anywhere, because my wires/plugs are destroyed.

You could use a bit of motor oil....that will work better

no glues, adhesives of any type of form on a plug thread.

if you got nothing, oil is the only safest bet on the threads.

get some moly lube or wait for anti-seize. but DO NOT apply silicone or whatever you're trying to put on there last minute.

Is spark plug anti seize really that hard to come by in your area? Do you have an Autozone or something near you? Usually it's right on the counter.

Agreed - oil is safest, short term.

....but get some anti-seize on there soon, steel threads and alloy hole make for nasty galling.

I had to drill out my first dry plug in a rotary in 1976, but since then, NevRseize all the way and not one since.

I was told there was anti seize stocked in my basement, and there wasn't. Anyways, turns out there is oil everywhere in my intake, so I have just been ripping that apart slowly. Def gonna need some advice later tomorrow on a few things, if anyone is willing to teach, I am so willing to learn!

Milk of magnesia will work as anti-seize. Make sure it is unflavored or the sugar will caramelize.

Its called galling and you need to look it up before you assume what you are doing is ok:

Basically what happens is the two metals weld themselves together. Through the heating and cooling process electrons and metal are transfered back and forth. Normally you would need an outside source of electricity. Which can naturally and slowly occur over time with the free electrons in the air. But since we are talking about spark plugs well there is plenty of electricity to help the galling along.

You guys forget that this is really needed when dealing with two different matierals but the sparkplugs and housing are aluminum, anti-seize plays are bigger role with two different metals such as Aluminum and steel... Obviously its better to have Anti-seize but if you dont you should be fine without it...

You can tell that to people who had Seized plugs for their Rotary (and piston if that matters)

Picked some up the next day, dirt cheap, and only needed a small amount. The plugs came out super easy, and went it super smooth, over night decided to clean my intake, new air filter, oil change everything went super smooth. Minus the oil filter, which I apparently over tightened last time... ended up break my oil filter remover, then turned my filter into a square with vice grips before it eventually gave up lol.

Overall, thanks to this website, and the great people here, my first real "get dirty maintenance" on my 8 was an amazing experience, and I can not WAIT to do more mods. Wooo!

I did remove all the components up to and including the throttle body, and cleaned those as well! I can't wait to get into those other items you mentioned though! I'm getting all geeky just to do it!

Hmm really wish you would've grasped a bit of my jocularity in my post. In my trade we call it anti-sneeze, butter, gravy etc... It's just for fun. Sorry for any confusion.

And to DocBeech um no galling is not the right term for two metals reacting to each other and essentially welding themselves together. Galling is when tightening or loosening (if we are strictly talking threads here) the threads can bind and shear and fuse together. Same sort of thing but one happens from friction and one happens from corrosion.
