Great nugget, never even considered that a 2stroke oil would be designed for mixing or injection, time to do some more reading!

I’m not claiming anything either way, just that people go and play around with their MOP system without possibly considering that a wrong move/mistake could result in a premature demise of their engine.

Crankcase oil was what the Mazda engineers chose to lubricate in the oil injection system. For those of us that use pre-mix we have to consider an oil that not only does the job lubricating but also mixes with gas and doesn't harm combustion, leave deposits, etc. so there's a different set of parameters for each application. I only use what I use from reading here and elsewhere, haven't got the knowledge or experience to advise anyone on what oil to use, but the logic makes sense to me that once you are using an adapter you pick the best oil for lubrication, period.

the only true source for the Sohn adapter is either Rotary Aviation or Epitroch. Any where else is likely a copycat/counterfeit.

With the S1 RX8 and the Sohn Adapter, I saw that we can run Fully Synthetic oil but i am having a hard time confirming. Can I run Motul 5w-40 with the Sohn Adapter?

You can run a modern high-quality synthetic anyway. There is no real consensus on oil choice, and what was true when the 8 came out is no longer true about modern oil, but at least with the Sohn you can choose what oil truth you want to believe and choose your shaft and injection oils accordingly.

Is there any weight oil that is most commonly used by the forum? The RX8 is new to me so I dont want to do anything that could damage the seals.

Usually 10w30 or 10w40 depending on climate. You won't damage the seals, but you may want to evaluate the general condition of your engine after the previous owner.
For more info have a look at rx8help.com, New Owners page.
