So Tired Of Wrestling

Ok, so I have to break down and purchase a new EPS module for my RX8. Everytime I drive my 8, it's like a wrestling match and I'm tired. The dealer diagnosed it with having a faulty EPS module and they kindly told me that it would be a $1400 repair. After laughing at them, I drove it home, but I knew that one day I would have to get this replaced. I've been all over the web trying to find one, and I did....from Mazmart I believe it was. It is a used one for like $300 and something bucks. I found another site, but for the life of me I can't remember who is was, and it was like $847 for a new one. I have looked at the connectors, and they are clean. Fuses work. Do ya'll have any suggestions on where I can get one of these.

Thanks

You should have tried searching on the subject. Chances are it is not the EPS but the $80.00 wiring harness. At least that was what mine turned out to be. Any time there is a problem with the steering the dealers states it is the the module.

Wiring harness is good. Was hoping that it was the harness. Diagnostic pointed to the module. Much rather pay $80 and change instead of $1400.

sometimes it looks good but its still bad (talking about the wire)

lots of friends I know in the far east replaced the whole Power Steering Rack to "fix" the problem once and for all.

but I agreed with 9K 90% of the time is NOT the module (the thing under the ECU).

See if the dealer will swap it out with a know good, test, it, and then test yours again. They did this to verify that the module was bad in mine after I checked all of the connections. Get it from Mazmart! It's an easy swap that you can do yourself as well. Only takes 5 minutes.
