So how long should I wait?

I'm fairly new to cars and a complete noob when it comes to the RX...I know you're not supposed to shut off the engine until it warms up due to flooding, but what about driving? Whenever I start up the car, I wait until the needle gets to the middle before I take off..that seems to be taking forever now that it's gotten colder here in new york. So can someone clarify...can I take off before the needle reaches the middle? I read I should be fine as long as I don't go over 3,000 rpm ? Is this correct?..how fast is that in mph (noob!)...

Thanks,

What I usually do is wait until the RPMs drop to around 1,000 on a cold start-up and then hold the accelerator at around 2,500 RPM for about 10 seconds then drive not going passed 3,000 RPM until the temp needle reaches the center.

Yes on all of the above. I usually wait until the air pump turns off before I pull out of my garage.

Depends on what gear you are in.

Just drive, making sure to keep rmp's below 3500 until the needle moves. Then, just don't do any redlining until the engine is fully warm.
