Should I be worried?

Should I be worried?
As most of you probably experience, when you kill the car, the fans come on for a few minutes to cool it down. That is how it was for me until the past couple months it stopped. Now when I turn off the car, it is silent and no fans come on, even when I purposefully drive it hard not too long before I turn it off. Is there something I can check or should I take this to the dealer? Even better, should I be worried?

Tomorrow, I guess I would just out and start the car, pop the hood, and wait.......you should hear the fans kick on after some amount of time.
I know it's pretty much an idiot guage, but is your water temp gauge reading higher than normal?
Someone please correct me if I'm wrong here, but I wouldn't worry about it just yet.

He's as bad as Can
The fans running after shutdown is primarily based on the outside temp. The outside temp is usually lower in Nov than it is in July so don't expect the fans to run.

There isn't a real temp gauge in the RX-8. I have a real temp gauge and watching the OEM and real at the same time can be funny. It will only move pass 'normal' when things are really bad. I based my first post on 106,000 miles & four summers of driving. There also isn't a set rule that on a 95 Deg day the fans always run after shutdown. I have done track days in the summer and not have the fans run after shutdown. But what I can say when they do it's always a hot summer day. Bottom line don't worry.

As I first said, I wouldn't worry about it too much unless other more drastic things occur. I'm sure you'll hear or feel them kick on in the coming days.

I agree totally, I just wanted to be sure the idiot guage wasn't showing super hot....ya know.......like getting close to overheating.
