Series 2 Taillights fit on a Series 1?

Like the title said I was curious if the Series 2 tail lights will fit onto the Series 1 I really do like those better then the stock series 1 and so I was just curious in case I found a junked series 2 with good tail lights.

Thanks,

Even if they did, the brake lights are LEDs and their power requirements are different. It's entirely possible you'd burn out the brake light switch if you swapped them in, without adding the necessary resistors to the circuit.

Damn... oh well...

Adding the resistors wouldn't be to hard lol least I hope not I mean I did go to school for it.

But that is something I had not yet gotten to considering since I didn't even know if the lights would fit :/ so thanks for the heads up though.

Jesus another one of these threads. This topic has been beat to death man. And FYI someone has already converted a S1 to a S2 front end.

His unauthorized group buy was shut down and he was warned, this is an attempt to circumvent the rules regarding that. He has received a 2nd warning and all of the posts have been deleted. If you see him try again report it so we can permaban him.

Thank you to RIWWP for the discussion and guidance. As per discussion, I'm not being ignorant...just didn't really understand the rules on the forum.

Will be posting my review of a set of Series 2 Tail Light that I saw installed in a Series 1 after consulting with RIWWP.

Like most of you, I surf this forum frequently looking for products, info and the next thing cool to do to my car.

I wanted to share that I have found a Series 2 Tail Light Kit which retrofits in Series 1 in North America.

Saw these tail lights in person.
- No need to get a series 2 bumper, direct replacement
- Great fit, gaps in even with no bulging at the quarter panel and rear bumper
- LED harness included, directly plug into the existing OEM wiring
- Comes with a new tail light gasket to eliminate condensation into the light assemble

Here is pictures of them from the owner's car.

PM me if you have any questions and want more info.

Thank you for the advise of RIWWP and the moderators on this forum.

He can't post the link right now due to the vendor advertising rules that nearly got him banned. You will need to use PM to avoid that reoccuring at the moment.

I'm satisfied he isn't a vendor trying to sell them, but I'd rather not recommend he does something that another staff member could see and boot him for without getting the updated information.

Difference in opinion. Not sure if they're from the same seller.

But the set that I saw looked pretty good and shipped from Japan. Will see the owner in the spring so could do a updated picture post.

Considering many of the OEM tail lights are made in Taiwan these days and cost to replace an OEM set due to condensation or water in the assemble.

These may be an alternative. Will getting this off eBAY charge you a custom tax/fee?

There are plenty of high quality pics of these and they are made in Thailand.

Not high quality but good enough to see how Alteezaish they are.

They still don't beat a proper S2 conversion, especially with Spirit R lights. A good alternative I guess if you don't want to go the full mile.

Just check with the owner and his set of lights are made in Taiwan. Can't really measure the quality, not like I have meter to measure the thickness. I guess only time will tell if they last in hot summer and cold winters. Not here to argue right or wrong...just sharing info. Take it with a grind of salt. As for those who goes the eBay route...watch out for the tax at customs EMS shipping will slam on the product. Good luck. At least there is now a product for those who don't have the time to mess around with full OEM series 2 conversions.

I wonder where OEM Series 2 tail lights are made?

OEM Series 2 lights.

OEM Spirit R Series 2 lights.

S2 Style Tail Light Retrofit I've seen in person.
