The threads started by this guy are worse than the post monchie makes.

Flexfuel means if you put in more gas it last you longer. LOL.

I'm surprised that almost nobody has mentioned that the fuel gauge and E light are not really that great at being consistent and accurate.

I saw a Cadillac CTS-V outside with a SC... if I stomp the pedal in my 8 it makes a similar sound .... does that mean i have a SC?

OK J-C, since you live in Qc you should be aware that the gas price often jumps from 10 cents a liter for random reasons during the week, you don't always pay the same price. In fact you should calculate how many kilometers you do per liter not how many days per dollar...

Anyway, I do between 15 and 18L per 100km. Keep your receipts, check the mileage you do between fill ups and you'll find out you have a consistent gas mileage.

PS you can join our local board www.clubrxquebec.com

AND to be back on the initial subject, as stated earlier; flex fuel means you can put E85 (ethanol gas) in the car, but we don't have it in Quebec.

I absolutely NEVER fill my tank part way. I drive till the gas light comes on, then fill it up all the way till the gas pump clicks off ONCE. Then using the gallons listed on the pump and mileage from my trip meter, i calculate gas consumption. I average about 18-19 mpg, so that's about 280 miles (450 km) per tank.

As for the pricing, gas is going up in price due to the japan quake and libya conflict. Right now in my area, it's $4 a gallon (3.8 litres) so $20 USD is good for 5 gallons (18.9 litres) to go 90 miles. A year ago, you could get 6.666 gallons (25.23 litres) for $20 USD, and go farther.

As others have said, your driving habits determine how far you go on a single tank. My previous car was rated at 27-32 mg city/highway but i managed an official best of 35mpg combined by changing my driving habits. Currently, a single tank can last me a month or longer, since i only drive between 1-2 times a week, driving the same route of 24 miles one-way per trip.

As for flex fuel, i wish the 8 DID have flex fuel capability!

Maybe i was stupid for trying to cover all the bases in one post. or for posting here at all. this whole thread is confusing.

Th 8 is NOT flex fuel, in terms of different fuel types. nor is it flex fuel in the original poster's context. that simple enough?

SMH... sorry if it was me that caused all this trouble.

Was just trying to help.

Edit: or a 1.13'ish per liter
My last fill up I had been driving maybe 10-20 miles after the low gas light came on and it cost me $59 to fill up to full. Dont remember how many gallons exactly but I think it was at or near 15. Gas here at the time was about 3.90 a gallon and still is very close to that.
