Ok, so i found the only Lightning Yellow (the only one I want after losing my 04 red rx8 due to someone running a red light) that I want and is a drivable distance (i'm going 250 miles for this baby, that's how bad I want the lightning yellow).

I called and talked to the owner, sounds like a nice guy, the vehicle is listed as $13,500 so ill see how much I can get it for.

He told me everything I wanted in an rx8, the bose system, manual transmission, sunroof/moonroof only 32,000 miles, garaged most of the year, only driven on weekends, (minus a SPOILER, RAWR that makes me mad hah, oh well thats another thread)

He told me the only problem he has with it is the low tire pressure light comes on, he says he took it to a mazda dealership and they said it was just a sensor that needs to be replaced and would only be about 55 dollars or so, he passed it up since it was nothing so another thing I gotta buy.

But I carfax'd the vehicle and everything looks good EXCEPT

Mazda determined that the RX-8 produced
approximately 4% less horsepower than originally
calculated. Although there was no loss of value,
use or safety, Mazda offered to repurchase the
vehicles in the interest of customer satisfaction"

is this worth NOT getting, is it THAT bad? I'm not that technical of course I want it to be as fast as it's SUPPOSED to be why would it be like that in the first place?

Any answers would be appreaciated, and if this is in the wrong place, I am sorry.

you had an 8 before and you don't know about this?

the 8 at launch was rated at 250hp but enough people dyno'd them and complained. so like what they did w/ the miata, mazda offered to buy the car back or a little bit of cash. the original owner obviously took the previous option. do a little bit of research and you'll get the whole story. it's no big deal
