Really depends what the ticking is. The ignition and spark plugs are down by the left wheel so if something is ticking on top, it's probably not that.

You could pull the spark plugs to see what they tell you before making big purchases.

Okay sorry for the stupid questions. I will pull the spark plugs and inspect them.
