Exclamation rewiring foglights...help please

I am following the thread in the dIY thread on rewiring the foglights to run without the main headlights. I am following omicrons way and can not seem to get it to work. I am slicing the brown wire with the small red and white wire yet nothing. Any suggestions. Seems like the splice is fine, I actually tried two different ones just to make sure. So I just rewired it back the old way until I can figure it out.....anyone?

check the wires

i have followed those directions, no problems. check the wire again, some look similar red/white white/red are two different wires.

Did you turn them on via the blinker stick and have the ignition on? IIRC it's the smaller red/white wire.

update

update to your pm, hubby used the wire from the third fuse and spliced to brown wire. ensure you splice to the correct side of the brown wire.
