Rev-i intake query

I'm installing my Rev-i intake at the moment. One thing I noticed upon removing the front bumper is that my car lacks the VFAD and also does not require a nipple for a vaccum hose that was connected to the VFAD. Is this normal???? I'm just curious if anyone else has seen this on other RX8's, or if its just a standard thing on an Auto RX8. Looking at my manufacturer date, it was made in August of 2003....wonder if that has anything to do with it? My main concern is that the intake might cause problems? I wouldn't think so from the looks of it. Any help or info is much appreciated.

If you mean IT as in the car, yes I got it used (as well as the Rev-i too). Well, that sucks...as long as it'll be a.o.k. I guess. Thanks

Someone removed it and didn't bother to put it back on when it (your car) got sold or traded in.

There is a VFAD removal thread somewhere on this forum, from what I remember, removing it is not an issue. It's just one less thing you will have to do now to install your Revi intake!

There is no VFAD for the auto. Nothing is missing, you don't need it. Here's the dif between the auto and 6spd.
