But hey, if you can turn it 1 1/6 turns with your hand, more power to 'ya. For critical "fasteners", engineers specify a measurable torque. That's why there are numbers for lug nuts, etc. Same holds for oil filter, which could be a catastrophic failure if it worked loose or overtightened. "hand tight" conveys absolutely no information as to the required torque. 1 1/6 turns does.
