Remote Unlock Interface

G'day,

I'm wanting to try and lash together my own remote unlock and ignition for my RX-8, and I'm trying to gather some information before I buy any hardware.

I want to know if it's possible to activate and deactivate the security system either by hitting the right pins on the security controller, or by talking on the CAN or ODB2 protocols. Ideally I want to be able to unlock the doors, disable the ignition kill, put the car into 'ON' mode, and start the ignition from a controller.

Using the service manual I've established that I can unlock the doors by hitting the right pins, but I don't know if that will unlock the 'double' lock that it's possible to do with the key fob, but I can't seem to find the ignition kill interlock documented in the service manual.

Does anyone have any experience with this or know of an aftermarket product I could look at?

I'm outside the United States, so I'm unable to buy this system. Does anyone know if there are technical details on how this system works?
