why not? i do all the time. any time you are going over 40 and you have aline of traffic you are following and not passing there is no reason to be in 3rd or 4th. the reason you have 6 gears is to use them.
that said changing the rear isnt going to get you anything but worse mileage has already been well covered.

Lower the car? I would do that if i didn't live in Colorado... aka Land of pot Holes -.-'
The BHR ignition kit and intake is something I have on my to do list for this car.
But what really grabbed my attention was that davesport 100 CPI cat that you were talking about. Looks like something I am going to need to do a lot of research on. Thanks for the suggestions Highway8.
