question about tranny
since they replaced a lot of tranny parts in my car its been acting weird to me.
for those of you who had tranny parts replaced does the shifting seem not so smooth since you got it?
i'm also having a lot of trouble getting into sixth gear it either wants to go into fourth or what i call five and a half since it looks like its in sixth gear but it shoots itself right back out crazy.

yea i know what you mean but i am wondering if maybe when you have new tranny parts in i have to break them in maybe. i know they replaced a bunch of synchro's, shift forks, and other misc parts.
so i was asking anyone else who had tranny parts replaced. when i first bought the car with 1 mile on it it shifted smooth as butter.

Crosswound, how does it shift standing still with the clutch depressed? I've never had the 8 transmission apart and I don't think that there are any shifter adjustments, but you need to determine if the problem is in the shifter or the transmission. Does the shifter easily move into all of the gear positions when standing still? Is it only a problem when you are moving?
In either case, get back to the dealer. Popping out of gear is not normal. There are lots of parts in a transmission and it is easy to get the re-assembly less than perfect.
