Question about ABS
I don’t often find myself in situations where I’m on the breaks so hard that the wheels would lock up, but this morning while dodging a deer I did just that.. I’ve driven quite a few cars with ABS, and never remember being able to make the tires screech in a hard stop; instead you usually get a vibration through the break pedal.
Well when I slammed the breaks this morning I noticed that the tires squealed, and I got no feedback through the break pedal. Should I be concerned that something is not functioning correctly, or is this par for the 8?
In any case the break squeal scared the deer, and he ran back in the opposite direction, instead of jumping in front of me.

It takes a while (~1/10sec or so at least for older systems) for the ABS to kick in. If you step hard enough on the brakes the tires might lock up for this period. There may be short lockups even after the system has started working.
