Question Pulled out my blown motor, got some questions.

Hey everyone, I've recently pulled out my blown engine from my 2004 6mt. This was my first engine pull in any car, so there was bound to be some issues. I'm reusing all my parts for my new engine, unless they need to be replaced (oil cooler to engine line rotted out), sensors that may have caused damage etc.

While I was lifting it out, some how the Boost Sensor was split in two. It was really just "opened up", except there are no clips or signs that it is supposed to open up. I put it back together by sliding the medal "rod" coming from the computer chip back into the slot where it belongs and it seems to hold fine. A little glue could hold it no problem if it is to be okay. There is a couple pictures of it below. It's $350 for a replacement and I don't really want to drop that much on a sensor if its ok. What do you guys think?

Also there is something I found sitting on the cross member that goes across the engine bay. It's clearly broken off something, except I have no idea at all where it came from. Does anybody recognize it so I can check/replace my parts that I stripped off the engine before I sent it to be built? Also pictures below.

Thanks a ton in advance.

That's the barometer... a "boost sensor" would be something that reads the pressure of a forced induction application (turbo / supercharger)... Get one off a junkyard car for $1...

I've seen the other piece before, but no clue what it is off hand.

Gottcha, the mazda dealership explained it as a "boost" sensor. They said it was because it was attached to the air pump. Thanks a lot as well, I will check the wreckers.

I'm also going to go do a quick search through of all my parts to see if I can figure out what the hell that piece is from.

Thanks again.
