i did once or twice... it was a while back, but i think there was a trick as I couldn't just hook up the tool and read them - my theory at the time was its because the CAN loop either doesn't look for them or the tps sensors don't activate until you start moving

 

I just connect everything, turn the car on, then start the program. Never shows the VIN, but the TPS values come up OK.

The one thing that I find to be a nuisance is that if I've used the regular CAN software, then want to run the RX-8 enhanced program, I need to reboot.

Thanks for your comments. A couple of things:
1. Reading the VIN is only possible with newer firmware in the box and not at all with an RS232 unit because of the low baud rate (19200). We will reflash the box for free when you return it to us along with $9.50 shipping. We will also send you a replacement chip for $26.00 if you don't want to return the box.

2. The TPS should show up on all RX8's. I have found that some but no all RX8's in Europe and Asia will not allow reading of VIN as do the U.S. models.

3. Our latest software requires the newer firmware to work correctly, also be sure you have enough memory to keep the software from paging the hard drive to make up for the lack of RAM. Do not have MP3's playing the background when running the software, I have seen that really slow down data transfer.

4. For those of you who have the CANScan AND our RX8 software, we will upgrade the old RX8 software to the new APEX version, which is $69, for free when you purchase the new OBDScan-APEX tool for $139

6. We have thought about adding more simulated gauges but it's really only eye candy to me, however if the users really like gauges we will try to add a dashboard screen. This kind of user feedback is very valuable to us.

Does anyone have the original canzoomer supplied software for this? I can't get it to work either on two different laptops.

Not sure really? I bought the CanScan used with a used CZ and but it didn't come with software. I can't get it to work with any of the stuff from obdscan.net. I assume it was purchased with the canzoomer unit. I attached a pic of what I have. Thanks for the help!

 

That looks like it was my old unit? CZ9 works with it.

I have new software from Dan, haven't had a chance to try it yet, things are crazy these days

as a thread revival... I got the newst Canscan and RX8enhanced software and it works brilliantly and I was able to pull the temps and pressures of all 4 wheels without any problems
