problem with deflooding.
yes i have searched.
due to the recent flood by relocating the cars in the driveway, i have had to get my car towed to my mech. it has just past 50k mileage. but i do have the extended drivetrain warranty? or at least i hope so. i dont really mind the price that i have to pay for it to be deflooded at my mech, but he doesnt know much about rotaries.
i will probably do the deflooding myself but i have no idea where to get the valves and the tubes!
i have been reading the diy for deflooding and it says to change the valve to the deflood setting from the washer nozzle setting? i cant find it =x. and also he says that the idea is wierd.
he did buy new spark plugs and put them on but it still didnt work.
ill probably call mazda tomorow to see whats up. although last time i made an appointment (great neck mazda) it was not until the next 2 weeks!! thats crazy lol.
anyones help is needed.
and happy thanksgiving!

If it's an 06 or earlier, you've got the 60K drivetrain warranty.
You're entitled to a free loaner when your car is laid up for warranty work. Don't know if deflooding is considered to be warranty, but folks here should be able to relate their experience on that.

Personally, I wouldn't bother with the washer-deflood mod unless you are having floods repeatedly. The Mazda TSB outlines how to deflood the car if the full-throttle deflooding does not work. I'd just use those instructions. Mazda does.

The best actions to take to avoid flooding are
1 - make sure you have a strong battery
2 - most recent flash
3 - the newer, slotted sparkplugs
4 - 2nd gen starter.
If you take to Mazda due to flooding they should take care of those items for you.
Take care of those and you shouldn't have flooding problems.

Easiest way to deflood... and this will take you about 30 mins.
Remove the front drivers side tire and jack the car up under the drivers side.
Remove the spark plugs (clean them while theyre out if youd like
Crank the engine up for 2 seconds with the plugs still out
Replace plugs and crank engine... voila! Deflooded in under 30 mins.

Still having problems
My '04 was brought in this past fall for flooding. They replaced the starter and put in a new battery (standard TSB stuff I think). Everything was working fine until this morning. It's been towed back to shop for flooding again.

It also helps to put a little (a couple of cc's) oil directly in the rotor housings while you have the plugs out. This will help restore compresstion.
