06 Rx 8 with 5000 km on it. When i come to a stop and open the clutch the rpms drop slowly and predictably to 1200 then to 1000 then they fall to approx 500 and the engine sounds like it is chugging, then they rise back to 800 for a while, then fall off to 500 again.
Its not like the rough idle video that has been posted, but rough nonetheless.

Any ideas?

Get it checked out. Did you have the recall done?

 

A small vacuum leak will do that - check the little 1/4" line that comes out under the throttle body on the drivers side, make sure it is on. Pinch it shut, see if the idle gets better, to rule out leaks further up the line.
