Oil overflow routed to TB???
Oil overflow routed to TB???
Hey guys
Stumbled across a DIY thread for an oil catch can, and i understand the purpose and functionality and agree it is a great idea to install one but I cant seem to find an answer to what seems to me is a simple question. Why is blow by or overflow oil even routed to the intake to begin with???
Thanks

Wouldn't it make more sense to vent it to atmosphere, just doesn't make sense auto manufactures know that potential blow by can occur why vent it to a potential hazard.
Venting to atmosphere would equal oil all over the engine bay.
Venting it with just a filter like some have done here would equal an easily clogged vent and for the average owner that's no good.
Venting it to a catch can although optimal would just mean added components and cost for the manufacturer to counteract an issue that should not occur.
