A Leaking seal shouldn't require a new OMP

Wait till you see the price tag before you commit to getting that

you might also make sure that the three OMP mounting bolts are reasonably tight/didn't come loose (don't overtighten/snap them, just a fair warning). The O-ring shouldn't ever really leak if the bolts are tight and it was properly in place when installed.

A new OMP is like $1300+ each from Mazda, as Dan mentioned you don't really want to go there unless you have no other options

Thanks for everyone's help, yes looked at the price of the OMP silly money! However I have looked at it more closely and the bolts holding it on were a little loose. I have tightened the bolts and checked the banjo bolts are all tight which does seem to have stopped the leak, however only thing now is wont Rev above 5,000 revs and have the coolent
coolent light on, I haven't changed anything seems strange and seems the oil didn't seem to leak Badley except under high revs I'm not sure if I've completely fixed the problem, going to check coolent tomorrow but sure it's topped up! Once again thanks for all the help

You are likely in limp mode because of the positioning switch. Reset the ECU and see if it goes away. If not loose the screws slightly and move the switch a bit and see if that helps.....if not try the other direction a bit until it works

I starting more and more OMP failure, all these adjusting and crap never really fixes it

only way is get a used good one, or buy brand new.

a Brand new one cost around 700, not that bad for a part that usually fails above 100K miles

More like $1000+ new,

MAZMART - Serving The Mazda Community Since 1980. RX8 Oil Metering Pump (04-08)

but it makes sense to try the adjustment procedure before buying a replacement, new or used
