Oil Dye

Im sure many of you have used this method to find a problematic oil leak. What id like to know is if it is visible in the OMP lines. Im thinking that if i could see the progress of the UV oil in the lines, this would be a good verification that the system is indeed working.

Perhaps especially if the dye has a temperature stable UV additive so that it would show up in black light. It is done in the AC system.

I found one by Autopro at my local Advance store. For $7 im going to give it a try. They had three types. Oil and fuel, A/C, and power steering.

Well the dye is certainly visible in the lines under a black light. They are glowing green !
Not sure this proved the pump was working though. I was hoping to see the green progress up the line as the pump worked, but the dye just migrated through almost immediately.
