Hi,

I have a Sohn adapter, so engine oil is not injected. However, I've lost about a quarter inch on the dipstick over the last 3000 km (including track days). Not hugely worried, but want to compare notes with someone else with a Sohn... notice any engine oil loss?

 

I ran 3 track days in 3 days and didn't use any engine oil at all.....engine is new though...so pristine oil seals and scrapers

Used 3 litres of the premix though

 

Yeah I don't use any oil either but my engine is new as well. My SOHN reservoir empties very quickly though.

 

I my sohn adapter. My only oil loss is from a annoying leak from my oil pan in one corner. I've put it on twice and each time before I can get the pan seated on the engine the back driver corner gets oil on it from the pressure regulator and it never seals right. Even still it is only enough of a leak to cause a slight drip and I never really notice any oil loss on the dipstick.

My sohn reservoir does empty quick though, but I also have the OMP increased with my Accessport.

You haven't noticed any oil leakage anywhere? My OMP seal warped a little and caused a small leak and I had to replace it, no leak since then.

 

Hmmm, so my 2-stroke consumption is about 1L per track day (~230 km driven, last time), otherwise pretty normal, comparable to net oil loss before Sohn.

No leaks that I can detect at the OMP or anywhere else, it's all dry. Is there any way to diagnose internal leaks or seals in the engine?

 

Doesnt sound too out of line really??
