new radiator cap...question about pressure
new radiator cap...question about pressure
im thinking about buying one of these b/c ive always felt the original one was an eyesore, however im skeptical about raising the pressure. anyone using this or know what the standard pressure is? i know its typically 12psi (.8ish bar) but im not sure if its a bit higher being a performance oriented car. thanks!
Raising the boiling point means raising the pressure in your cooling system, which may cause hoses to blow, or even worse your radiator or heater core to fail. Best to stick to the recommended pressure for your car.
I don't know how this cap can raise "cooling efficiency". All you are doing is raising the pressure, you won't affect cooling efficiency unless you change the radiator or water pump...
I have searched all the Mazdaspeed websites I can find and cannot see this cap anywhere. I agree with epitrochoid, I suspect this may not be a genuine part...

its 0.9 bar, so the question becomes is a higher pressure cap going to mess up the system?
