Question Need Radiator Help

Bought a used 2004 RX-8 and on further inspection noticed that the top of the radiator (passenger side) has an opening that looks like it should be closed off or attached to something...can anyone help me decipher this? Car seems to operate fine.

I would be more worried about why there is overspray on it...how much of a hit did it take??

It is missing the vent for the ECU housing...it goes from the front right of the ECU box to the hole in the rad shroud.

I bought the 8 from a guy that did a fair job of restoring it ,but not perfect ,the pictures that attached are the top of the radiator .The ecu vent would be the left of this . Model year 2004 ,manual . I think that the radiator will have to be replaced.

That round hole is where the ECU vent goes....there are two vents from the front of the ECU...one an intake and the other an exaust...you are missing the right hand one...trust me I looked
