You know darn well what we are talking about...it is your modus operandi here, you will bait members and then you 'delete ' your post in the guise that others won't or can not see, we can restore those deleted messages of yours if you wish?, so stop with the sincerity line..please...
It has nothing to do with 'debating' or a technical challenge over the 'internet' for pete sake, your attitude of well known ''one liners'' or less, offering no help/advice, only when you want to.
As I said, for the record I am not the only staff who removes or modifies your posts or anyone else which is irrelevant or to the point of argumentative..

Sometimes I post things I decide were over the line and for this and other reasons go back to delete them. There's no guise to it. I've been called out by mods plenty including yourself and in nearly every case I didn't disagree with them because it was over something inappropriate. I make mistakes, sometimes I catch them before having them pointed out in earnest.
This is different. You are censoring my opinion differing from your own and the only guise is you trying to paint it off as mine rather than your own.

it's as much an opinion as your reply above and certainly no more provocative than 2/3 of the forum smiley list, which there is no difference between posting either. There's little point in arguing further when you can delete my replies or post anything you care to say like your own opinion is the final word of God and then lock the thread leaving me without any recourse of response.
so getting back on subject, I can confirm that my Dec-2004 built 2005MY RX-8 starter has a 13-tooth pinion gear. To increase the pinion gear to 14 teeth as per the N3R3 2009+ starter requires the pinion gear diameter to increase, which is why they also changed the starter nose mount to shift the starter rotational centerline to accommodate the difference.

Managed to get my hands on a new Mazda reman 2009+ N3R3 starter. Apparently it's only available from Mazda as several hours were wasted trying to find it through non-Mazda channels.
It makes the S1 starter look like a wimp, but with a penalty of increased size and weight. You can also see how they offset the starter to allow for the larger diameter 14 tooth pinion gear to mate properly with the same size flywheel/ring gear

Outside of NA the OE NEW Starter (Mitsubishi) is still available, however you will pay almost twice the price of the US re-mans...+ shipping.

if you place an order using the new part number in the USA it will automatically change to the reman part number when the order is placed.
The general public can't order one for that price. It's only available to Mazda sponsored racers through their Motorsport program.

So N3R3 is strictly only for MT?
I'm looking for one for AT. If N3R3 isn't applicable, what's the next best for AT? N3R2?
I'm based in Australia. I know I could easily order one from Mazda, but the price isn't making me sleep too easy. What's the best (Cheapest) place to order one that's ships to Australia, brand new?

N3R3-18-400 is a Series II Starter and YES it is ONLY for Manual Trans and will fit Series I RX-8's MANUAL TRANS ONLY..
What year in your AUTO RX-8's?
Auto and MANUAL Starter Motors ARE NOT THE SAME.

Great deal, and it looks to be a legit S2 starter. When I got mine some places listed 09-11 manual starters but when you actually saw them, they were just S1 starters.
