What did i just watch?

 

That was an arduino driving Isuzu ignition coils at 35volts and .2ms dwell up to one spark per ms. Eventually I plan on using it to both have a multispark ignition (up to 10,000 rpm by current numbers) and have the ability to dynamically control my timing using ion sense. Right now I'm just hoping I can get it to replace my existing ignition coils and ignite gas.

The reason I had the coils play music is because I was bored and because it was the easiest way to test the limitations of the coil ignitors and controller. Which it did, sometimes with smoke involved.

 

Oh and transistors are not meant to be used as over-current protection in a circuit, who knew?
