Mods/Maintainece now engine makes clicking noise

Ok so for the past few weeks i thought i would treat the rx8. First off i started with new plugs, coils, plug wires in one day. No problems ran beautiful. Fast foward to yesterday i changed the transmisson fluid to Royal purple and also put on the ap Pulley. Can ran beautiful but i got the cel after the pulley ( cleared it with the battery discconect method) . Now ive been using regular gas for a few months never heard any weird noises or engine problems. Today i filled her up with a full tank of premium 93. A few hours later i noticed a clicking noise ( A fast contant click) from the engine. Reset the ecu ( battery and the 20 brake method), Oil check is good, still made noise. Now ive heard of engine pinging when you use 87 but is it possible since ive been using 87 for so long now that i ue 93 its pinging? Forgot to add idle is good no power loss throghout the rpms.

k will do i dd quadruple check them when i put em in never made any noise then. Strted up the car let it warm up ... no noise. I did get on it yesterday ( the pulley made me do it) but idk maybe its only a noise when the car gets beat on.
Btw i really dont want to go to a dealer here in North NJ the dealers round here are horrible.

Possibly the purge solenoid after a full tank of gas. This solenoid bleeds off fuel tank vapors to the intake manifold for emission-control purposes and it clicks whenever fuel vapors in the tank need purging due to build-up. It is normal.

If they weren't tight he would get a CEL on each start-up from the incorrect e-shaft profile.

Had same thing, loose plug wire. The wire boot was still hanging on the plug end but not snapped on the plug.

someone else had this issue with the AP pulley a long time ago . He took it off then put it back on and the problem dissappeared . Can't see what could be done wrong myself other than a bit of crap behind the pulley or bolts not tight

probably not due to the pulley, because I notice the same clicking noise after startup with my car. clicks every half second and constant. i don't have any engine mods...

sticks888 this was not your normal clicking sound it was like that of a piston engine with a serious valve problem herd from even a few feet away. but im puttin it on user error ( pulley bolts may have been loose?) i shuld have tightened them before puttin the stock on but hey at that point all i thught was my engine was done must return to stock. I never had any faith in the hex bolts that ap provided.
