Missing rpm signal
I have dyno test an 08 RX-8 tonight with a Sweden made Piggyback system. Everything went fine until we saw that when we loggged the rpm signal, that it just dropped to zero after we dyno'd to about 5000 rpm (started with 3000 to 4000 rpm). Tested again with same results. This means the map point in the system was not reaching higher rpm it just retarded to zero. Then we tested my Civinco box which function really good for me. The "new" box hold up to 6000 rpm and then the problem begun again! It seems that the Piggyback box "disconnect" itself and the Mazda box override it and take over the fuel map though the lambda reading, were in the 0.79-0.81 and not that i had programmed 0.89-0.91. Began to wonder if it can be the inductive pickup that is to hot when i dyno it for long and lose signal? When we let it cool down, it works when i rew it in neutral but again when we dynotest it it's back again! The engine made good power anyway, 196rwhp at 8000 rpm with a complete ML Wankeltrim 2.5"stainless system with a front racekat and Motul 300V synthethic oil. Any inputs on this is highly appreciated!

I was there when this RX-8 was dynoed and can verify that nice power gains were seen. Up to 10kW increases at certain rpms.
But the rpm signal got lost as the engine got hotter. This phenomenon was only seen after a few dyno pulls and when everything had cooled down it started to work again. The piggyback box seemed to work all along, but the rpm signal was nowhere to be found (in the civinco box).
This box has been working in a -04 RX-8 without flaws for months and last night we tried two units with no success in this -08.
Could maybe the ignition HALL sensor unit be faulty, or has Mazda upgraded those on later models?
