Misfire Issue

Group,

I have a done a lot of searching and have a game plan. but wanted to get the groups advise before spending a ton on parts. I have owned the car for 22 years and had other rotaries, so familiar with them, but this is my first major issue with my RX-8

2004 MT with no mods and 80k miles
Car ran great back in Jan/Feb before being stored.
Engine replaced at 29k due to recall (2008)
Total replacement intake under warranty (2008)

Started the car this morning an everything was fine, drove about 2 miles and that is when things started getting crazy.

1. Check Engine light started blinking and lose of power
2. Backed off and car started running fine till accelerator was pushed and check engine light again.
3. Limped car back home and grabbed another car.
4. Came home and checked that nothing got in the hood during the winter and found nothing.
5. Pulled codes, P0300 and P0302, misfire in housing 2
6. Erased codes and started up up, a little hesitation but started up and idled fine.
7. Hit the gas and it bogs down, if you easy the gas pedal, it revs up and a little hesitation at 3k rpms and pulls to 4-5k.
8. No check engine light or codes since clearing.

Plugs, coils and wires replaced at 75k 5 years ago, car isn't driven very much and may be the issue
Fuel was topped off back in Jan/Feb with 93

Things to try this week
1. Clean MAF and check for any leaks
2. Clear ESS (Brake Pedal) and ECC (Pull Battery)

Recommendations
1. Should I try a de-carbon with Seafoam
2. Should I put new plugs and wire or switch them between one/two
3. Test actuators on intake
4. Drain fuel or replace fuel pump
5. Any advice would be great.

My nearest Mazda dealer id 60 miles away and would need to tow.

You havent mentioned when the coils were changed, which are the leading cause of these types of issues.

Sounds like a fuel or air metering problem. I doubt it’s ignition or keg related.

Do you have a scan tool to ready ODB data? Check your airflow, fuel trims and AFR on a warm idle. If there's an air leak or problem with fuel, it will show up there.

I was able to do a freeze frame with the DTC, fuel trim 1 short/long 0.0%, fuel trim3 -100.6% short and long, air flow rate .18 GR/Sec. I may go get a reader that does live if you additional data. Looking a Fuel trim3 makes me think injectors

There is no fuel trim 3, and trim typically maxes out at +/-25%, so not sure what thats about.
18 grams/ second? Or 0.18? Either is very wrong for 800 rpm idle. What rpm was this at?

Do you obvious gaps in the intake that would let air in?
Typically you would have codes for uncompensated air, but its good to get the air right before other troubleshooting
