Autobahn88 Silicone Coolant Line Kit*

Hi guys, after researching the threads I bought this kit from Amazon for $180 (can be bought from website too but shipping is more and longer). I didn't get a chance to take a picture but will upload one later today when I get home from work. I am impressed with the kit, the material appears to be the good quality others noted in the threads. I will also upload a picture of the kit installed once I get around to having it done.

I bought the same kit and the material seems great, I bought it in black though to keep things classy looking. Worth noting a couple things with this kit:

1) It does not come with every coolant hose, there is a separate kit for the firewall hoses. So keep that in mind when pricing it against other kits
2) The lower radiator hose is much thicker than stock and if you also have an upgraded front sway bar (I have the hotchkis) then they will rub together. My solution was to cut that hose in the straight part and add an adapter in the middle to make it longer. This gave me a couple mm of space between the hose and sway bar

Thank you, i greatly appreciate the info. I have a racing beat front sway bar so I will double check the fitment.

I ended up buying the 3 firewall/ heater hoses from Atkins. I figured since they aren't visible - this is the better option for fitment and function. I also bought their Oil Cooler Thermal Pellets to bypass the stock oil cooler thermostats.

Can’t go wrong with the oem stuff!

On the other hand you can go wrong with stuff like that thermal pellet. The way the rx8 cooler works is that it has 2 paths for the oil to travel, either through the cooler or through the bypass. And the thermostat simply closes the bypass at high temperatures so oil is forced through the cooler only. You can get lower temp thermostats that will close the bypass earlier.

Point is that you always have oil flowing through your cooler, but just not ALL of it which you don’t need when the engine is cold anyways and it’s very hard on your pump

Unless you are doing something very specific you probably shouldn’t install those pellets

Yeah you shouldn't just bypass your oil thermostats. You can buy an aftermarket thermostat like the ones Innovative makes.

I already bought them from Atkins and am expecting them to arrive tomorrow. I honestly want to try them out and see how they work out as a fellow Rotary enthusiast has been running them for years with good results. They don't seem too difficult to change out if it doesn't end up working out.
