mechanical noise when going from R>D

my aunt has an auto with about 1000 miles on it. lately she has noticed a noise that would mostly only happen when she goes from reverse to drive. i rode with her today and its definitely coming from the very front of the car. i can best explain the noise as what an automatic garage sounds like when it first starts to open. it lasts very shortly, like less than a second.

does anyone know what this could be?

this is caused by the abs self check. it happens every time you start driving the car. when you shift from reverse into a forward gear it is just more noticable then when you start out from a forward gear all together. it is also more noticable when you step on the gas a little harder than just sort of rolling away. she is probably more used to and comfotable with the car now so is launching a little harder than she did in the past.
