in addition to the obvious it also requires a manual ecu and abs if I remember the referenced thread correctly. I didn't bother asking if it was something you could flash with an Access Port. That'd be pretty cool if you could.

I am not trying to bash you but your 18, said your poor, will be making payments on an 04 till 2012 and most likely do not have the skills that the starter of the AT - MT thread has. There is no way you should do this. Start adding up all the parts needed plus 1-2 grand in labor and you should think twice about this. Plus the bank owns your 8, not you (yet) so doing such a drastic change to that car can come back to bite you later. Save your $$$ for when the 16x Rotary comes out (we hope) sometime in 2011??

EDIT:: I forgot to add that you will not get the extra 40 HP, the engine in your AT is not the same one in a 6-speed. The person that did the AT-MT swap also changed the engine to one from a MT.

yeah the 04 AT engines are 4 port while the 04 MT's are 6 port which is where ur 40 extra horses come from and i think they changed the AT engine to 6 port in 06 (correct me if i'm wrong) so changin the tranny will not give you very much more power if any....and expo is right the money you spend on the transfer will just not b worth it...save up for the 16x
